The fatal mistake you're probably making with your EX is communicating to him/her that you're not BIG enough to handle a breakup.
Losing your cool, trying saving tactics like manipulation or breaking down by begging will do nothing to make you look attractive because these types of actions are unattractive. People feel pity towards a beggar and usually want to get the heck out of there. Wouldn't you want to escape a prison of tears?
Gathering up the troops by telling this person that you can't live without him/her is downright pathetic behavior and you're better than that! You deserve to live an amazing life with or without this person in your life.
Your emotions will find it hard to stop the fight but this is what you have to "will" yourself to do. When people are at war, there are many casualties - this battle for your EX because your heart is broken will immobilize you, causing you to be a casualty.
Is this the sort of power you want to assign to your EX? Do you want your EX to believe that he/she has so much power over you by seeing that your life is wrecked because someone left you? Good grief!
You must re-train your emotional mapping to learn to let detach from your EX. You do this by forming a different energy in your subconscious mind so that your conscious mind will release you from being at the mercies of your EX. You reprogram your subconscious mind by your words. Your words will then cause your thoughts to come into alignment and this will change how you feel.
Here are some ways to re-train: Start by telling yourself everyday that you are worthy of unconditional love and deserve a partner who will commit to you forever. Say it aloud:
"I am worthy of unconditional love."
"I deserve a partner who will commit to me forever"
"I deserve to be successful in love."
"I deserve a quality relationship that will last."
Now if you're just going to roll your eyes or mumble the words then you should not be in a relationship. You are not ready to have a relationship that will last. It if far better than the chaos you are now experiencing because of self hate. When you fall in love with yourself, you will feel complete and this kind of strength is what draws people in.
